Career Change - Tamale, World Traveller

I am seriously looking for work as a professional blogger. I can see myself being really very happy in a career where someone pays me to write about travel spots, and general vacation experiences. It would just perfectly combine two of the things I love to do most in the world - travel and write. Now, who's going to hire me? I think my travel blog would be highly interesting and amusing, don't you think? Vacationing is one thing I do fabulously, and I write best when I am passionate about something, so why not pay me to improve my crafts?

And I would be very happy doing it and a happy Tamale makes for a happy world. As it is now, I can be rather deadly when approached by the wrong people as a man learned the hard way last week. lol. But generally, life is good. I am liking my job since the change - though this can change any day now - and though I don't have a life as a result of said job, I am okay.

There are, of course, the days when it gets pretty damn lonely and bringing work home does not feel like such a big, bad imposition. I have let myself go as well and I am fatter and not as hot as I usually can be. I am not sure why this is - fatigue or hopelessness. I hope it's more of the former and less of the latter, cause I don't like to think that I am so hopeless as to become a huge whale that noone will want to date. But seriously, I am using the next 2 weeks while my mum is on vacation to address ME and my issues with food and not wanting to exercise and maybe get some rest as well.

Rest...now there's a concept. Going to get some right now actually.

Road to Vacation

Yes Lou...I do feel better but then it is the weekend, and the week may bring new ill feeling. I believe I am allergic to work. I am so looking forward to vacation.

I have been stuck with November as the month of choice for vacation and have no idea where to go. I guess I have time to figure it out but at that time of year, it is difficult to find somewhere fun. Cause on the one hand you have one part of the world battling hurricanes and that is no fun, and the other part facing cold weather. No fun there either. I don't necessarily need a beach vacation cause I can go to Tobago for that. But would love good weather, maybe some shopping, sightseeing, some fun activities, ease of getting there, cost-effective, safe and fun for singles - since it would be a solo spinster trip, and just general enjoyment.

So what is an overworked, hurricane-hating, anti-freezing, adventure-loving Trini spinster then do for vacation, and where oh where does she go?

Vegas just came to mind...hmmm.

Everythings

Well, life has been pretty damn stressful lately. There have been some serious career issues, involving seriously manipulative and vindicative people and add this to my workload and no social life due to exhaustion and I am a hot mess. I brought work home - something I never do, but God was telling me in His own way that I should enjoy the weekend cause the company laptop refused to log me in so the options are to work on my personal pc or to not work at all.

I'm leaning towards shopping, lunch and a movie tomorrow - leaning heavily. I have noone to do this with but it does not matter. I am so tired. So worn out - mentally and physically. The MIA bomb, whom I emailed for advice earlier in the week, invited me to come spend some time with him but of course as luck would have it, I would be working that weekend. I mean...it's a conspiracy. Do you know how hard it is to get some bomb time??? Time with the ever elusive, ever busy bomb is like gold. I am deeply annoyed but again, it may be a sign.

I don't know what to do with regard to the work situation - I have a decision to make where that is concerned and have no idea what option to choose. Do I just block it out this weekend and hope I have an epiphany? Or sit and work it through? In any event, it is part of my stress levels- a major part. And I need to make a decision by Monday or I think I may just go crazy since there is a lot of overt pressure on me to do so. A lot is riding on this and it sucks that I have to be put in this situation.

I dunno. Who said life was easy?

Anyway, Lou wanted some photos of where I live. I took these that day Obama was here, when noone could get near the capital. I took my book out to this place and sat in the sun all day. It's peaceful, even with the loud Indian music blaring from across the pond from the large contingent of fellow day-offers.

I stopped on Dateline tonight during sleepy channel surfing and Diane Sawyer was interviewing that woman who just had a face transplant and her spirit was awesome so at the end of the day, with all the gifts that I have, I just have to get through it all the only way I know how. With prayer, reaffirmations and chocolate.
