Trinidad only has 2 seasons - dry and rainy. For 6 months out of the year, the place is Caribbean-esque - blue skies, fluffy white clouds, blazing hot sun, lots of chicks in shorts, happy Tamale.
Then come June 1, sour Tamale emerges - and so do dark skies, menacing clouds, thunderstorms every frickin' second. Yesterday I had to drive to and from work in white rain and God I hate that. Of course before that I had to pull myself out of a cosy bed, with the welcoming pitter patter sounds which make snuggling under the blankie sooooo enjoyable. I had to sit in a room with other people, listening to lectures, while sleep weather raged outside. I had to sit at a lunch table with a girl I cannot stand cause there was no escape cause it was wet and cold and rainy outside. I had to get my hair wet as I tried to get my gate open to get into the driveway.
Yep. I am not a fan of the rain. It's just that simple.

We'll take it! Our farmers are crying for rain.
ReplyDeleteRain, rain and more rain does sound a bit tedious. At least it's not freezing (I imagine). May the rain miraculously stop everytime you need to leave the house or car or work - nothing worse than hair that gets the frizz.
